AMC Theaters announced a few days allowing texting in parts of a theater or having texting theaters. The public response was not positive. The CEO of the Alamo Drafthouse wrote a blog about this saying it was a bad idea. Now AMC has decided that the texting friendly idea was bad.
Honestly I understand people not wanting a movie theater chain to encourage texting. Texting in theaters bothers me and other people. It seems rude, movie theaters shouldn’t be encouraging patrons to be rude.
It seems to me that you are paying to see the movie, you can wait to text until after the movie. I think this varies from person to person but some people are too attached to their phones. I understand it I think but you’re paying to see a movie on a big screen, why not turn off your phone?
