Jurassic World

This movie was good. Twenty years after Jurassic park, a new park called Jurassic World is open in South America. Alas, people are jaded and the company wants to make a new bigger badder dinosaur by genetic engineering.

Well, things go wrong. (That’s not a spoiler.) I guess there could still be a movie if things didn’t go wrong. Chris Pratt is the hero, Owen, and he has a bond with raptors. That is kind of neat.

Bryce Dallas Howard stars as Claire, she runs the park and her nephews are visiting. The boy’s parents are on the verge of divorce. When things go South, Clare and Owen go to get the boys.

This movie has a slow build. The dinosaurs look good. The action sequences are good, not extraordinary. I have a feeling this won’t be a classic.

There is not too much comic relief. (Apparently too much comic relief still bothers me.) The 3D effects were okay but I think the movie probably looks fine in 2D.

The movie ignores the first two sequels. I knew that it would going in, I wonder if there will be other sequels that ignores this one some day.
