Book thoughts late July

Terry Brooks’ the High Druid’s Blade was good. It was a nice change of pace for Brooks to write a standalone novel. I look forward to his next book. I wonder if the hero of this novel will reappear in another book.

Brad Thor’s latest book, Act of War,  is decent. This time Scott Harvath is trying to foil a Chinese plot to destroy America. Thor is a good writer. Some of his more conservative views seemed to  be evident.

New books by John Sandford, Robert Crais, and John Grisham come out in the fall. I will probably pick up at least two.
