Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters re-watched

There might not be a third Percy Jackson movie.  I have not heard anything about it. If not, at least the 2 movies that were made were enjoyable.

Logan Lerman returns as Percy Jackson, the halfblood son of Poseidon.  He is starting to wonder if he is a one quest wonder. (Heh.)  However the magical barrier that protects Camp Half-Blood is destroyed and Percy goes on a quest to recover the Golden Fleece.  He has to go to the Sea of Monsters, the Bermuda triangle.  There is also a prophecy that the child of one the main gods (Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades) will destroy Olympus before he or she turns twenty.

He is aided by his friend Annabeth (daughter of Athena) and his newly discovered half-brother, Tyson, who is a cyclops.  Percy’s best friend Grover, a satyr, gets captured again. Percy has a new rival, Clarisse, the daughter of Ares. Luke, the son of Hermes, and the villain of the first film returns and he wants the Fleece too.  He wants the Fleece to resurrect Kronos and then hopes to have Kronos destroy the Olympians. (Kronos also rampaged in 2012’s Wrath of the Titans.)

Anthony Head, Stanley Tucci, and Nathan Fillion are on hand in supporting roles. Tucci is the god of wine cursed to have all wine turn into water before he can drink it.  The action was fun and the movie has some nice touches and laughs.  I am not sure about the confederate war zombies though.  Maybe if there is a third film, they don’t e to return.

These movies are fun and maybe I like them more than I should.
