Three somewhat essential cds December 2013

I don’t really write a lot about music on this blog. Maybe it might be time to change that.

  • Songs of Sinatra by Steve Tyrell

This might not be Tyrell’s best CD but it was very good. There are some classic songs(Fly me to the Moon, Witchcraft, and All of Me to name a few) on this CD and Frank Sinatra Jr co-sings one song, which I thought was a nice touch.

  • So Strong by the Celtic Tenors

This is also really good. It features a mixture of classic and modern songs like the Green Fields of France, and Anthem from Chess.  Their version of the Star of the County Down was really good. Maybe their CD Remember Me is even better.

  • Red by John Stevens

Like Tyrell, Stevens sings standards. The best song on the album might be This Love. Someone to Watch Over Me was also really  good.  Stevens is working on a new CD with some original songs.
