Comic book movie thoughts late April

I really hope the Man of Steel movie is good. (Actually I hope it will be really good but I’d settle for just good.) I would like to see a Superman movie that was as good as Christopher Reeve’s first two films.  I’d like there to be a Superman for a new generation (I don’t think either Tom Welling or Dean Cain count).

I am not sure if it is a good idea to reboot Batman again on the big screen. We’ve already seen his origin but I might have thought that before Batman Begins and that movie worked out.  Rumors say that there might be a new Batman movie by 2016.

Tom Hiddleston is rumored to be the new Crow (he’d be good).  I remember the Crow but Brandon Lee’s death hangs over that movie.    I am not sure that  we need a reboot of the Crow.  This would be the fifth Crow film, including at least one that went straight to video. I’ve seen two of the films and I remember the first one being pretty good.  I am sure I’ve seen the second Crow movie but it has been at least six or seven years since I last saw it.

I might skip Kick-ass 2.  I’ve seen the trailer and it did not interest me.  I haven’t seen the first film in a while and I don’t feel a need to see it again.

I am not familiar with R.I.P.D. comic.  The movie looks like a Men in Black rip-off.  The trailer looks good but also there’s an element to it that might get old really fast (the fact that the two cops look completely different to the living).  Maybe with one of the two cops being from the Old West will bring a different feeling to the movie.
