Seeking a Friend for the End of the World and other movie thoughts

Steve Carell is an interesting actor.  Like Keanu Reeves, when Carell is right for a part,he is really right for it.  (Reeves might have less range than Carell.)  Carrell’s latest movie is Seeking a Friend for the End of a World.  In this movie, the world is doomed by a falling asteroid and then the world is in a panic.  Carell’s character, Dodge, goes looking for his high school sweetheart and he is helped by Penny (Kiera Knightley).   This is an interesting movie, not Carell’s best but it is enjoyable. I think his best film remains Dan in Real Life.

My local movie theater is now just showing one warning to turn off your phones.  I guess that is a good sign.

The movie trailers don’t seem to be turning over quickly this year.  I feel like I have seen that Savages trailer eight or nine times and it is not getting any more interesting.  I don’t really want to see it again.
