Terry Brooks has a new one, Bearers of the Black Staff. It is set in his Shannara world. (He has written several books set in this world. The classic trilogy Sword of Shannara, Elfstones of Shannara, and the Wishsong of Shannara is available in a recent hardback edition.) Bearers of the Black Staff looks interesting, it looks to be set in the early days of Shannara/the four lands, and his last book a Princess of Landover was very good. (Landover is the setting of his other series of fantasy novels.) The Landover books are a bit less epic than the Shannara books but the Landover books are still good.
Keith Olberman has a new book, Pitchforks and Torches, comming out. (I hope it is new, it could be a bunch of re-edited transcripts from his tv show.) It might be interesting at least to look at the reviews. (Sometimes I am not interested in politics and even the passion that Olberman brings is not enough to interest me.)
American Assassin by Vince Flynn will be his latest thriller staring Mitch Rapp of the CIA. I listen to these on cd and Armand Schultz who often reads them is very good.
If you like Vince Flynn, you might also like Brad Thor and he is starting a new series with a book called the Athena Project. Armand Schultz has also read some of Brad Thor’s books on CD.
Jeff Lindsay’s new Dexter book, Dexter is Delicious should be good. This is the series that inspired the tv show on showtime.
Stephen J Cannel has a new Shane Scully novel (Shane’s a cop on the LAPD) novel called the Prostistutes Ball. This is the 10th book in the series and I have enjoyed most of them so far. (I don’t know if I have read every book in the series or listen to every book on cd but I have read or heard at least six of the nine so far.) Hollywood Tough was really good.
